A man was killed and three more went missing after a sand-laden bulkhead sank in the Bay of Bengal.

The body of Nabi Hossain, 30, who hailed from Ramgoti upazila of Lakshmipur district, was recovered from a canal in Mirsarai area of Chattogram district on Thursday morning.
Two of the missing people were identified as Sukani Abdul Mannan, 30, and Abdul Hannan also hailed from the same area.

Mezbah Uddin Hridoy, cousin of the deceased, said the sand-laden bulkhead sank on the way to Sandwip after the four people left Chattogram on Sunday (February 25). They learned about the incident from workers of other bulkheads.

Ramgoti Police Station officer-in-charge Mosleh Uddin said, "We aren't aware of the incident. Even the family members of the missing people did not inform us."
