Viqarunnisa teacher, daughter die in Bailey Road fire

A senior teacher of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College and her daughter died in the devastating fire that took place at the seven-storey building on Bailey Road in the capital on Thursday night.

The deceased were Lutfun Nahar Karim Lucky and her daughter Jannatin Tajri, a former student of the institution.
Golam Mohiuddin identified the bodies of his wife and daughter at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

He said his wife and daughter went to Kacchi Bhai to have their dinner and became the victim of the fire that engulfed the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Acting Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Keka Roy Chowdhury expressed deep shock and sorrow at the untimely death of the teacher and former student. At least 46 people were killed, and over 20 others sustained severe injuries in the devastating fire on Thursday night.
