Chhatra Union unit and general students of
Islamic University (IU) in
Kushtia hold human chains separately on Saturday demanding fee-harmonization of 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic sessions.
They gave an ultimatum to the authority including three points demanded from the human chain.
They staged the human chain in front of the university administrative building around 10:00am. Later, they submitted the three points demands to the treasurer Professor Dr Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan.
The three points demanded are- declared fees for adjustment must be adjusted, those who deposited the fees additionally, must be adjusted with the masters and should be held concerned accountability, who are not writing the account in the accounts book.
They said to the human chain, ‘after the adjustment, the academic section again charged the full fee. Until the payment is full fee, we cannot collect the mark-sheet, certificate and other documents from the examination controller offices. Which amounts to cheating with two academic sessions’.
In 2019, the past administration issued a notification for 20 per cent adjustment in the unwanted fees of these two academic sessions, in the face of intense pressure from the students. But, avoiding these notifications, the academic section has collected the increased fees again.
