Bailey Road fire: Amin Mohammad Group's official arrested

A manager of Amin Mohammad Group, a leading real estate conglomerate of the country, has been arrested in connection with the tragic death of 46 people in fire on a multi-storeyed building at Bailey Road in the capital.

Ramna police said they arrested the manager Munshi Hamimul Huque Bipul after conducting drives on Saturday (March 2). With Bipul, four people were arrested in connection with the inferno at Green Cozy Cottage at Bailey Road in the capital.
At least 46 people have so far been killed in the devastating fire that broke out at Green Cozy Cottage building at Bailey Road at about 9:50pm on Thursday (February 29). Among the 12 more burnt victims, 10 have been undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, while two at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Earlier on Friday night, three people were arrested in connection with the incident of fire. They were 'Cha-Chumuk' Restaurant's two owners Anwarul Huq and Shafiqur Rahman, and 'Kacchi Bhai Restaurant' manager Joynuddin Jishan.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police said the devastating fire had originated from Cha-Chumuk Restaurant situated at the ground floor of Green Cozy Cottage building.

Meanwhile, a case was filed on Friday night over the death of 46 people due to negligence at Green Cozy Cottage at Bailey Road in the capital.

Being the plaintiff, police filed the case at Ramna Police Station, said DMP's Ramna Zone's assistant commissioner Mohammad Salman Farsi.
