NCRP finds edible oil price lower at factory of S Alam Group

The Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection (NCRP) has conducted an inspection at an edible oil factory at Moijjartek in Chittagong on Saturday.
The officials of the directorate found that the factory was producing and supplying one liter of soybean oil at a comparatively lower price of Tk162 per, Tk 1.0 one lower than the price fixed by the government, which fixed rthe price at Tk 163 per litre.
The NCRP Directorate conducted the inspection at the factory to see that the prices remain stable during the upcoming Ramadan.
To keep daily commodities supply uninterrupted and prices stable during Ramadan, S. Alam Group took the initiative to import sugar, edible oil, wheat, lentils, cheakpeas, spices, etc as required, the company said in a press release.
The company is importing some 1.2 million tonnes of sugar, 2 lakh 58 thousand tonnes edible oil, 1 lakh 78 thousand tonnes of wheat, 50,000 tonnes of  lentil, 50,000 tonnes of chickpea. These consignments are nearly half of the requirements the the country is expected to need in the month of Ramadan, said the press release.
