3 family members died in Bailey road fire laid down at Ukhiya

UKHIYA, COXS BAZAR, Mar 3: Namaz-e-Janaza of three family members who died in Dhakas Bailey Road fire was held in Ukhiya Upazila of the district two times, on Saturday and Sunday.

The three deceased are Assistant Customs Inspector Shahjalal Uddin, 37, his wife Meherunnesa Helali, 24, and their four-year-old daughter Fairuj Kashem Jamira.

The second Janaza was arranged on the premises of Moricha Palong Mukijoddha Smriti Girls High School with huge people mourning.

Before the Janaza, a brief recalling meeting was organized. It was addressed, among others, by former MP of Ukhiya-Teknaf Constituency Abdur Rahman Bodi,  father of deceased Shahjalal Bir Muktijoddha Dr Abul Kashem, Shahjalals  elder brother Shahjahan Saju,  deceased Meherunnesas  father Moktar Helali, former upazila chairman Alhajj Mahmudul Haq Chowdhury, Acting Upazila Chairman Jahangir Alam, Ukhiya Awami League General Secretary and Rajapalong Union Chairman Jahangir Kabir Chowdhury, Jilongja Union Chairman Tipu Sultan, Holdia Palong Union Chairman Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, and former union chairman (acting)  Aminul Haq Amin.

After the Janaza, the bodies were laid down in their family graveyard in Pachwim Morichia area.

The deceased family would reside in Bashundhara Riverview area in Dakkhin Keraniganj of Dhaka.

His elder brother Shahjahan Saju said, "After taking a three-day leave, Shahjalal came to Dhaka for going to Sajek in Khagrachhari. On Thursday at 11pm, he confirmed Green Line  tickets. To have dinner, he went out with his wife and daughter at the Bailey Road, but there, they met a dreadful death."

Their bodies were brought home by ambulance on Saturday night. The ambulance was first taken to Meherunnesas  home at Ramur Village in Fatehkhanrkul Union on Saturday at 8:30pm, and at 11pm, their first Namaz-e-Janaza was held. Later on, the ambulance was brought to the village home of Shahjalal in Holdia Palong Village.
 
Their second Namaz-e-Janaza was held at 11pm on Sunday on the school ground.
