Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football

Seven matches decided on opening day

Daily Jugantor, Daily Kalbela, Bangla News 24, BTV, Deepto Television, Jamuna Television and Channel-I won their respective matches in the inaugural day of the Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football at the artificial turf of BFF on Tuesday. Seven matches were played on the opening day of the meet.

Like the previous years, Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football is being organised under the sponsorship of Square Toiletries. This time too, 32 media houses are divided into eight groups participating in the knockout system.

Sheikh Ashraf Ali, a member of the Swadhin Bangla Football Team and Adib Bin Shahid, Brand Manager of sponsor Square Toiletries Limited, inaugurated the tournament. BSJA General Secretary Anisur Rahman, Tournament Committee Convener Raihan Al Mughni and Tournament Coordinator Arifur Rahman Babu were also present on the occasion.

Jamuna Television got the biggest win in the first days play. They beat Dhaka Post by 7-1 goals. The winning teams bullet was adjudged Man of the Match. Channel-I outplayed GTV by 3-1 goals.

The match between Bangladesh Television and Bangla Tribune was fiercely competitive one. The match between the two teams ended goalless draw at the scheduled time. Later, Bangladesh Television won the match 4-1 in the tiebreaker. Mehedi Hasan was adjudged Man of the Match. Daily Kalbela beat News24 by 3-0. Ruhul Amin was adjudged the man of the match for scoring two goals.

Bangla News24 beat SA Television by a solitary goal of Tamim Hasan. Daily Jugantor beat Daily Janakantha by only goal scored by Majharul Islam. RTV was awarded walkover against Bangladesh Protidin who failed to turn out.
