The government has decided to keep the regular activities and classes of government primary schools open for the first 10 days of Ramadan.

"During the holy month of Ramadan, classes of primary schools will be held from 9am to 3pm with a break of 15 minutes from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zohr prayers," said a notice of the Directorate of Primary Education.

On the occasion of holy Ramadan, madrasa holiday was supposed to start from March 7, but this time the decision has been revised.

According to the new decision, classes and academic activities will continue in all madrasas till March 21.

Initially, the annual holiday list had earmarked 30 days of closure for primary schools during Ramadan.

However, on February 9, the ministry revised this plan, extending school hours to accommodate learning during the initial phase of the holy month.     —BSS
