Dear sir,
The brickyard has been built like an umbrella on the side of Palashbari-Gaibandha highway at Dholbhanga in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha district. The presence of 8 brick kilns is spread in around 1 km area. The main source of soil for these bricks is the fertile soil of the land.
Due to the unplanned construction of brick kilns posing a threat to the environment, massive changes are being observed in the area. The supply of soil to brick kilns from the fertile lands of the surrounding areas is a major threat to agriculture in the surrounding areas. Air pollution in the area is increasing in the alarming rate due to brick kiln smoke. Due to the effect of air pollution, there is a great impact on the areas crops including fruits.
Apart from this, the presence of illegal burning of trees in some brick kilns can also be seen due to the high price of coal and lack of supply.
During the labor crisis, primary school students are often recruited as laborers. As a result, students are dropping out in the surrounding areas. Considering the areas environmental protection, agricultural land protection and education standards, the brick kilns must be shut down immediately.
