Bangladesh posted a challenging total of 286 runs before Sri Lanka in the second game of the three-match ODI series on Friday.
Towhid Hridoy smashed a 96-run innings hitting five sixes and three fours to take the team to the total at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Earlier on batting, Bangladesh lost Liton Das without adding any runs on the board like in the first game.
However, Soumya Sarkar and Najmul Hossain Shanto counterattacked the opposition bowlers and provided a brilliant partnership of 75 runs between them.
Shanto departed for 40 from 39 balls but Soumya completed his 12th ODI fifty before being out for 68 from 66.
At one stage, Bangladesh fell under pressure losing back-to-back wickets but Towhid Hridoy stayed with patience and finished the innings with a competitive total. Taskin Ahmed played a 10-ball 18-run cameo at the end.
Wanindo Hasaranga was the pick of the Lankan bowlers taking four wickets while Dilshan Madushanka got two.
