Man killed being hit by motorcycle in Jatrabari

A 40-year-old man died after being hit by a motorcycle in the capital's Jatrabari area on Friday afternoon.

The accident took place at Konapara area under Jatrabari Police Station.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Hossain, son of Sirajul Islam of the area.

The deceased brother Md Akter Hossain said a speeding motorcycle hit his brother while he was crossing the road after completing his work in his workshop.

Kamal was rescued in critical condition and was first taken to a local hospital. Later, when his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.

The matter has been informed to the concerned police station, he added.
