Two killed in Ctg road crash

Two people were killed and another was injured after an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram early Sunday.

The deceased were Shahidul Islam, 30, and Abhijit Biswas, 31, and the injured was Shantanu Biswas, 30. They all were employees of a local steel mill.

Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Baroawlia Highway Police Station Khokan Chandra Ghosh said the trios were going to Chattogram town on a motorcycle after completing their shift.

The accident occurred when they reached Kadam Rasul area around 1am and an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle from behind, leaving Abhijit dead on the spot and two others, including Shahidul, injured critically.

The injured were taken to Chattagram Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Shahidul dead, he said adding that they have collected CCTV footage to identify the vehicle.
