The World Water Day-2024 was observed on Friday across the country and the globe in a befitting manner.
This years theme of the Day is - "Water for Peace."
To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Pirojpur and Shariatpur.
PIROJPUR: In this connection, the district administration and District Water Development Board jointly organized different programmes in the town.
A rally was brought out from Pirojpur Circuit House premises in the morning, and it ended on the deputy commissioners (DC) office premises after parading the main streets of the town.
Later on, a discussion meeting was held in Shaheed Abdur Razzaque-Saif Mizan Memorial Conference Room of the DC office room.
Pirojpur DC Mohammed Jahedur Rahman was present as the chief guest while Additional DC (ADC) (General) Madhubi Roy presided over the meeting.
SHARIATPUR: On this occasion, different programmes were organized in the district.
A rally was bought out in front of the DC office premises in the morning, and it ended at the same place after parading the important streets of the town.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the DC office.
ADC (Revenue) Md Saifuddin Gias addressed the function as the chief guest with Executive Engineer of Shariatpur Water Development Board SM Ahsan Habib in the chair.
Executive Engineer of the District Department of Public Health Engineering Fazlul Haque and Engineer Rakib Hossain, among others, were also present at the programme.
