Multi-storey building catches fire at Gulshan

A multi-storey building caught fire in the capital's Gulshan area on Saturday.

The fire originated from the ninth floor of the 18-storey building at Gulshan-1 around 4:15 pm, said Md Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and started working to douse the blaze.

He said that five more fire engines were going there but were delayed due to traffic jams.

The cause behind the fire and the casualties could not be known immediately, he added.
