Thakur Anukalchandra festival on in Pabna

PABNA, Mar 25: The 136th advent-year-commemoration festival of Sri Sri Thakur Anukalchandra started on Sunday in Hemayetpur Upazila of the district.

To hold the festival, Hemayetpur Ashram has been decorated properly. Devotees came from different districts of the country to the festival.

Pabna Sadar Constituency MP and District Awami League (AL) General Secretary Golam Faruk Khandakar  Prince visited the festival. At that time, Pabna Municipal Mayor Sharif Uddin Pradhan and AL leader Shahjahan Mamun along with local leaders and Ashram-related people were present.

Deputy Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting held on the first day of the festival. Special guests were Superintendent of Police Akbar Ali Munsi, BPM, President of Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Parishad-Pabna Birmuktijoddha Chandan Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of Universal Group Sohani Hossain, former panel chairman of Pabna Zilla Parishad Vijay Bhushan Roy, Director of Pabna Mental Hospital Dr Md Shafkat Wahed, Pabna Press Club President ABM Fazlur Rahman, Pabna Zilla Puja Udjapan Parishad President Prabhas Chandra Bhadra, and Hindu Mahajot-Pabna District Branch Convenor Ashish Kumar Basak.

Ghulam Faruk Prince, MP, attended the discussion meeting as the chief guest on the second day. Pabna Zilla Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha A S M Abdur Rahim Pakon was present as special guest.
 
Law enforcement forces are continuously working to ensure security around the Ashram, so that no unwanted incident takes place.
