CHATTOGRAM, Mar 25: The owners of the hijacked ship MV Abdullah have trying for peaceful settlement of the hijack drama protecting the lives of their 23 sailors.
"For this reason we have been proceeding cautiously for a settlement without risking the sailors lives, said Mijanul Islam Media spokesman of KSRM Group.
"Our first priority is the lives of our 23 sailors," said Meherul Karim CEO of SR Shipping Limited, a sister concern of KSRM Group.
Meanwhile, as the days went by, the anxiety and concern of the relatives of the hostage sailors mounting day by day. They have been spending their days in utter frustration and anxiety.
The ship owners sources said, the discussions between the ship owner and the pirates have been continuing regularly without a fruitful solution.
Operation Atlanta and the Indian Navy ships have surrounded the hijacked ship to rescue the sailors.
They are trying to rescue the ship and sailors with armed intervention. But the ship owners and the Bangladesh government did not allow any armed intervention risking the lives of the sailors.
Meanwhile Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff said that the Indian Navy is keeping a close watch on the hijacked Bangladeshi vessel MV Abdullah and it has been taken to Somalia.
Indian Navy will take affirmative action to ensure there is safety and security in the Indian Ocean.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta, the European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) warship has surrounded the hijacked Bangladeshi-flagged vessel MV Abdullah near the coast of Somalia on Saturday that is still continuing. The warship regularly monitoring the situation of the hijacked ship, sources said. The warship under its anti-piracy mission Operation Atalanta had taken the step to rescue the hijacked Bangladeshi-flagged vessel MV Abdullah.
The Puntland Police of Somalia and the International Navy were also preparing to conduct an operation to free the Bangladeshi-flagged ship and its hostages.
