Garments Sramik Front on Friday demanded the garment factory owners to pay salary and festival bonus to the workers soon ahead of the Eid-ul Fitr.

It also demanded for payment of their arrears and stopping job cuts and repression.
The trade union placed the demands, staging a demonstration in front of the National Press Club in the capital.

Leaders of Garments Sramik Front including its president Ahsan Habib Bulbul and general secretary Selim Mahmud spoke on the occasion.

It also asked for ensuring trade union rights by bringing effective amendments to the labour law.

The association demanded punishment to the perpetrators who were behind the killings of four workers, and pay standard compensation to their families in line with the ILO convention.
