Expatriate crushed under train

JOYPURHAT, Mar 30: A Malaysian expatriate was killed after a train hit his motorcycle and dragged it to about three kilometres in Akkelpur Upazila of the district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mukul Hossain, 35, son of Khalilur Rahman, a resident of Hajarapara Village under Sonamukhi Union in the upazila. He came home from Malaysia two months back.
According to the deceaseds family members, Mukul was returning home from a local market after finishing Eid shopping in the morning riding on a motorcycle. On the way, the Dhaka-bound Chilahati Express train hit his motorcycle and dragged him to about three kilometres, leaving him dead on the spot.
Akkelpur Railway Station Master Khadija Khatun said on information, Railway police visited the area and the deceaseds family members took the body from the scene.
Officer-in-Charge of Santahar Railway Police Station Moktar Hossain confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
