20 shops gutted in Khagrachhari

At least 20 shops were burnt down in a fire broke out in Khagrachhari's Dighinala Upazila on Wednesday.

The incident happened early in the morning at Chota Merung Bazar under Dighinala Upazila.
Locals said the fire originated inside a shop early in the morning. Then the fire spread to adjacent shops instantly.

On information, Dighinala Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after an effort of more than an hour.

In addition to the fire service, Army members and locals also work to control the fire.

Chhota Merung Bazaar Committee President Mohammad Ali said, initially it seemed that the fire started from an electric short-circuit.
