NCC Bank to finance DU research project

NCC Bank will provide financial assistance of Tk 95 lakh to a Jute Retting research project of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Dhaka University under special CSR in agriculture sector.

In this regard, an agreement was signed recently at Vice-Chancellors lounge at Dhaka University.  

In presence of Professor Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal, VC of Dhaka University and M. Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director and CEO (C.C.) of NCC Bank Professor, Dr. Enamul Haque, Chairman of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of DU and Md. Monirul Alam, SEVP and Company Secretary of NCC Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations, says a press release.  

Dhaka University faculty members and NCC Bank officials are also present there.

Professor Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal, VC of Dhaka University mentioned that supporting agricultural research projects is a great initiative of the Bank and thanked the NCC Banks authorities for co-operating in a complex research project like "Method of Jute Fiber removal process in a short time by using less water".

He hopes that this research project will make special contribution for increasing jute production & quality, preventing environmental pollution as well as conservation of biodiversity.

M. Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director and CEO (C.C.) of NCC Bank said that NCC Bank has already supported the marginal farmers to cultivate single inch of land across the country as a part of social responsibility as announced by Honle Prime Minister.

He added that, apart from providing loan facilities at lower interest rate, Bank has distributed various types of seeds, fertilizer & pesticides & saplings among 15,000 marginal farmers across the country free of cost.

In continuation of that, NCC Bank has financed jute research project like this and it will continue in others agricultural projects in the near future.
