A Dhaka court on Wednesday deferred till May 19 the submission of the probe report in a case filed over the death of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider fixed the fresh date as the investigating authority, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the case failed to submit the report on Wednesday.
On April 16 last year, another Dhaka court ordered CID to further probe into the case following Fardins father, also the complainant of the case, filed a no-confidence petition against the Detective Branchs (DB) final report.
A brilliant student of BUET, Fardin went missing on November 5 in 2022 and his body was found in the Shitalakshya River on November 7 in 2022.
On November 8 in 2022, a day after Fardins body was found, Dr Farhad Hossain, a forensic doctor at Narayanganj Victoria Hospital, told journalists, "Several signs of injury have been found on Fardins chest and head. The victim lost his life due to an internal haemorrhage. It is definitely a murder."
