Heatwave sweeping across Dhaka, 2 other divs

The capital city of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions are experiencing a mild to moderate heat wave that has raised the daytime temperature over the past several days, robbing the faithful of their comfort during the holy month of Ramadan. In cities, heat also raises the need for water and electricity.

Although Bangladesh Power Development Board has said that there is no load shedding but our correspondents have said that they are facing 4 to 6 times load shedding  in a day,  particularly in Chattogram and Mymenshing right at the moment.

"Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and it may spread. Due to the increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may increase," according to the regular bulletin of the Met office on Wednesday. Md Bazlur Rashid BMD meteorologist said, "The prevailing heat wave over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Rajshahi divisions may continue and spread for the next 72 hours."
