Heat wave sweeping across four divisions

A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping across some places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Chattogram divisions suddenly causing  sufferings to people who have been fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping across the Rajshahi division and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail and Faridpur of Dhaka division and Kushtia and Chuadanga of Khulna division and Rangamati in Chattogram division.

The heat wave may continue.

Due to increase of moisture incursion discomfort may persist.

According to the Met office bulletin issued at 6pm on Thursday, countrys highest temperature 39.0°C (degree Celsius) was recorded at Rajshahi and Chuadanga while the highest 36.0°C temperature was recorded in Dhaka, Rangamati and Mongla.
 
In Faridpur and Tangail, the highest temperature was 36.7°C. in Kushtias Kumarkhali, the days highest temperature was 37.0°C.    

According to a regular bulletin of the Met office, the heat wave may spread to other regions. Due to an increase in moisture incursion, the discomfort may increase further.

It said that rain or thunder showers accompanied with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places in Khulna, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with hailstorm at isolated places.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.

The Met office predicted that the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere.
