Minor girl drowns on her birthday

A three-year-old child drowned in a river at Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased Meherun was daughter of Jahidul Islam Sarkar and a resident of Berabajua village under Chandaikona union of the upazila.
According to the deceased family members, the child was playing inside her house in the afternoon. At one stage, she went to the adjacent Fuljor River in absence of the family members and drowned there.

She then, rescued and taken to Raiganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

The deceased mother Molina Begum confirmed the death matter and said that Meherun borned in the same day (May 4) which was her last day in earth.
