No unfit vehicles would be allowed to ply the roads and highways during the Eid, said Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) chairman Nur Mohammad Mojumder.
There is no scope to ply the unfit vehicles because administration is active and they would take stern action against those who violate the rule, Nur told this to media after visiting the Gabtoli Bus Terminal in the capital on Saturday.
The BRTA chairman said they asked the garment owners to give requisition so that they could provide the BRTC buses for safe travel of workers.
He said they would not allow any unfit vehicles on road and highways for this they put 550 BRTC buses in reserve.
Mobile court, vigilance team, monitoring team are working in the terminal, Nur Mohammad said, adding that they urged the transport owners and leaders not to charge extra money from the home bound passengers.
On behalf of the BRTA, bus fare lists have been provided to every counters and the magistrate and vigilance team are monitoring it. The transport owners and leaders assured that they will provide necessary assistance to officials, he added.
The Chairman also urged the passengers to pay according to the fare chart and if any bus counter charges extra fare, they are asked to complain the vigilance team.
