Three men murdered in Gopalganj, Mymensingh, Natore

Three men have been murdered in separate incidents in three districts - Gopalganj, Mymensingh, and Natore, in three days.
 
GOPALGANJ: A man was beaten to death reportedly by rivals at his in-laws house in Tungipara Upazila of the district early Sunday.

The incident took place in Charkushli Village under the upazila at around 3 am.

The deceased was identified as Billal Gazi, 40, son of Mokhles Gazi, a resident of Gabgachia Village under Indurkani Upazila in Pirojpur District.

According to the deceaseds family members, Billal Gazi was made an accused in a kidnapping case filed by the neighbours of his in-laws over a missing   incident.

CID has been investigating the case and since the case was filed, Billal along with his family members went to India.

Later on, they returned to his in-laws house around a month earlier. Sensing their presence in the house, the neighbours informed CID to arrest Billal.

Being informed, CID raided the house but failed to arrest him. When CID returned after being failed to arrest Bilal, the rivals beat him to death after finding him at a banana orchard adjacent to his in-laws house.

On information, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Md Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tungipara Police Station (PS).

Police have also arrested three people including the wife of the main accused Alamgir in this connection and filing of a murder case with the PS is underway, the OC added.

MYMENSINGH: A man was killed in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in Trishal Upazila of the district on Saturday night.

The incident took place at around 9:30 pm on Eidgah field at Khagati Bazar under Mathbari Union of the upazila.
Deceased Abdul Qadir Jilani, 50, was a resident of Jamtala Village under Mokshpur Union in the upazila.

According to police and locals, Jilani had a dispute over land with Mamun and Sohag of the area for long. Following this, at around 9:30 pm on Saturday, supporters of Jilani clashed with the men of Mamun and Sohag with weapons.

Abdul Qadir Jilani was critically injured at that time. He was, later, rescued and taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 11 pm.

Sub-Inspector of Trishal PS Bikash Sarker confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are trying to arrest those involved in the murder.

NATORE: A man was killed and at least seven others were injured in a clash between two groups over trivial matter in Lalpur Upazila of the district on Friday.

The incident took place in Uttar Paikpara Village of the upazila in the evening.

The deceased was identified as Quamrul Islam, 40, son of late Abdur Rahim, a resident of the area.

The injured persons are: Kamal Hossain, Sabuj Hossain, Insar Ali, Montu Ali, Babul Hossain, Tariq Hossain and Biplob Hossain.

According to police and local sources, Quamrul Islam cut some planted grass from his cousin Kamal Hossains land on Friday.

Following this, a quarrel took place in between them, and at one stage, supporters of the duo locked into a clash, which left eight persons including Quamrul critically injured.

The injured were rescued and taken to Lalpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor referred Quamrul to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated further.

Later on, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Rajshahi.
