Teenage girl kills self for not getting new dress

KAMALGANJ, MOULVIBAZAR, Apr 8: A teenage girl committed suicide out of huff with her mother as she did not get new dress on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

The incident took place in Eidgah Tilla Village under Shamshernagar Union of Kamalganj Upazila in the district on Saturday evening.

Deceased Rima Akhter, 16, was the daughter of Nazir Mia of the area.
The deceaseds father Nazir Mia said his wife bought new dresses for all the family members from a vendor on Friday last, but his daughter demanded to buy her a dress from market. As her mother did not agree on that, Rima consumed pesticide on Saturday evening.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Sunday.
