A minibus belonging to 'Safety Paribahan' rammed a Metro Rail pillar losing control while competing with another minibus to pick passengers in front of the Bangladesh Air Force Museum in Agargaon around 2:00pm on Tuesday, leaving at least 10 passengers injured.
Assistant Police Commissioner of Traffic Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Zone Md Tarek Sekander confirmed it.
The minibus rammed the Pillar No. 74 of the Metro Rail, breaking the water drainage pipe of the Metro Rail.
However, the driver and helper fled the place immediately after the incident and before police reached the spot..
Md Tarek Sekander said the 'Safety Paribahan' minibus (Dhaka Metro-Ba 11-7016) collided with the Metro Pillar in front of Bangladesh Air Force Museum in Agargaon around 2:00pm. Ten passengers on board the minibus were injured in the incident and several of them were rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital in a critical condition.
Kafrul Police Station's officer-in-charge (OC) Md Faruqul Alam said a police team went to the spot receiving information. The minibus was seized and attempts were going on to nab the driver and helper of the minibus.
