Driver dies, 20 hurt as two buses collided in Narail

A man was killed and 20 others were injured as two buses collided head-on in Narail on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was driver of a bus of BK Paribahan  Jafar Hossain Sheikh, 45.

Md Shawkat Hossain, chief of Narail Highway Police, said a bus of ‘Liton Paribahan’ from Dhaka collided with a local bus of BK Paribahan from Kalna on the Narail-Jashore-Benapole highway near the Durbajuri Petrol Pump at around 11am, leaving the driver of BK Paribahan dead on the spot.

The fire service and police members rescued the injured and took them to the Narail Modern Sadar Hospital.
Among them, four are in critical condition and were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The buses were moved off the highway and regular traffic has been restored, he added.
