Five people were killed and several others injured -- including a small child -- when a knife-wielding attacker rampaged through a busy Sydney shopping centre in Australia on Saturday,
Eight people, including a nine-month-old baby and her mother, were rushed to hospital following the attack.
Multiple people were stabbed by the unidentified assailant, who was shot dead by a policewoman at the scene.
New South Wales Police said the incident occurred just before 4pm (06:00 GMT) on Saturday at the sprawling Westfield Bondi Junction mall complex, which was packed with shoppers, reports Al Jazeera.

Located media reported that hundreds of people were evacuated from the shopping centre, with social media posts showing crowds fleeing and police cars and emergency services rushing to the area.
