Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday criticised Israel for attacking Palestine and termed Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as more dangerous than Hitler.
"Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emerged as more dangerous than Hitler. Today, the entire world seems to be a battlefield. We witness echoes of Hitlers arrogance and belligerence from the Second World War resurfacing in global politics. Netanyahu mirrors the same disregard that led to the Holocaust, where 6 million Jews perished," Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said at a press conference at AL President Sheikh Hasinas political office in Dhanmondi.
Quader pointed out Netanyahus disregard for international institutions, including the United Nations and his defiance of White House.
Highlighting the alarming death toll, he said, "14,000 children have already been killed by Israel in Gaza."
Referring to recent events, the AL general secretary mentioned Israels decision to attack Iran despite calls for restraint from influential nations like the United States created uncertainty across the world.
He expressed concerns over Netanyahus seemingly unchecked authority, comparing it to Hitlers regime.
Regarding remarks made by the US Ambassador to Dhaka Peter Haas concerning Bangladeshs democracy index, the minister challenged the ambassador, pointing out how many steps back the United States had taken in the democracy index.
Quader also praised the Prime Ministers efforts in stabilising commodity prices, attributing the improved economy to increased financial activities during Eid.
He noted the surge in transactions in the banking sector and emphasised Awami Leagues commitment to implement the Prime Ministers directives.
Quader also expressed his satisfaction over the people returning to work after the Eid celebrations.
