Historic Mujibnagar Day observed in Shariatpur

The historic Mujibnagar Day was observed in Shariatpur district on Wednesday in a befitting manner marking the oath-taking of country's first government on April 17 in 1971.

On the occasion, a discussion meeting on 'The historic Mujibnagar Day and Bangladesh Independence' was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office in the morning with deputy commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nizam Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
Additional deputy commissioner (General) Md Saifuddin Gias, additional superintendent of police Tanveer Haider Shaon, Shariatpur Press Club president and district Awami League general secretary Anal Kumar Dey, Shariatpur Municipal mayor Parvez Rahman John and others were present on the occasion.
