Two men were electrocuted in separate incidents in two districts - Mymensingh and Bhola, recently.
BHALUKA, MYMENSINGH: A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was electrocuted in Bhaluka Upazila of the district recently.
The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Rubel, 30, son of Firuz Mia, a resident of Goari Village under Birunia Union in the upazila. He was the convenor of Birunia Union Unit of BCL.
Local sources said Rubel came in contact with live electricity on Tuesday morning while he was working in his fish farm, which left him critically injured.
Sensing the matter, the family members rescued him and took to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared the youth dead.
LALMOHAN, BHOLA: A man was electrocuted in Lalmohan Upazila of the district recently.
Deceased Md Azim Uddin Biswas, 38, son of late Jamal Uddin Biswas, was a resident of Ward No. 3 Farazir Dokan area under Kalma Union in the upazila.
It was known that Azim Uddin came in contact with an electric wire while he went down into a pond in the area to take a bath, which left him dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and handed it over to the deceaseds family members as no complaint was lodged from them.
Officer-in-Charge of Lalmohan Police Station (PS) SM Mahbub Ul Alam confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed with the PS in this regard.
