12 trucks with smuggled sugar seized in Pabna, 23 held

Detectives in Pabna confiscated 12 trucks carrying 242 tonnes of smuggled sugar on Thursday night. The Detective Branch of Police apprehended 23 individuals suspected of transporting the sugar at Kazirhaat ferry ghat in Aminpur.

The majority of those detained are truck drivers, according to the police. Md Emran Mahamud Tuhin, the Officer-In-Charge of Pabna DB police, stated that acting on a tip-off, a team from the Detective Branch positioned themselves at Kazirhaat ferry ghat.
Upon the arrival of the trucks at approximately 11:30 pm, law enforcement officers apprehended them in the act. Tuhin commented, "The truck drivers failed to produce any legal documentation, leading to their apprehension and the seizure of the sugar."
