CHATTOGRAM, Apr 20: Bangladeshi flag carrier MV Abdullah with 23 sailors freed on April14 by the Somali pirates is expected to reach Dubai Port of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday afternoon.
"The sailors and the ship are expected to return Chattogram after staying five days in Dubai, said Mijanul Islam, Media Spokesman of KSRM Group.
After release by the Somali Pirates, MV Abdullah on Board 23 sailors left for Dubai Port on April 14 last.
"In their weeklong voyage to Dubai, the ship did not face any problem, Mijan said.
Meanwhile, all 23 sailors of the hijacked Bangladeshi flag carrier MV Abdullah have been freed along with the ship from the captivity of Somali pirates after 33 days.
Meanwhile, a Somali news outlet reported that MV Abdullah was released on paying $5 million (Tk 55 crore). When asked how much ransom was paid to the Somali pirates, the owner side declined to make any comment during the talks with the local journalists.
The Bangladesh government and the Kabir Group, the owners of the vessel, have not confirmed the payment of a ransom.
