The third match of the quarterfinals of Federation Cup Football is set to be played today (Tuesday) in Gopalganj at 3:00 pm. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Bangladesh Police Football Club will engage in the race to secure a spot in the semis as only one will be able to meet Mohammed Sporting Club there.

In the meantime, Bashundhara Kings and Mohammedan SC already made it to the semis after winning the respective quarterfinals. Whoever wins the match today will face the traditional black and white outfits in semis.

The two opponents, Sk Jamal and Police FC, are meeting for the second time in the tournament as they were in the same group in the group round. Among them, the Dhanmondi boys are more experienced with three champions trophies and two runners-up trophies in their showcase. They were the champions of the 2011-12, 2013-14, and 2014-15 seasons and runners-up of the 2010-11 and 2012-13 seasons.

This time, the Dhanmondi boys were the group champions but suffered a 2-2 tie with the Police boys. So, getting the same opponents once again in such a vital match may make them uncomfortable.
The match is expected to be a challenging one for both.
