Missing child's body recovered from Sunamganj river

The body of a child, who went missing on Thursday, was recovered from the Monai River at Dharmapasha upazila in Sunamganj district on Friday morning.

The deceased child was Tawhid Mia, 5, son of Iyer Hossain, a resident of Bakharpur village under the upazila.
According to the deceased family members, Tawhid went missing while playing on the bank of the river on Thursday evening. After sensing his absence, family members searched for him for the whole night but failed to locate him.

Later around 6am on Friday, locals spotted his body was floating in the river and informed police after recovering the body.

Dharmapasha Police Station sub-inspector Abdus Sabur Mia confirmed the death matter and added that they have handed over the body to the family upon their request.
