Heatwave: Tourist dies at Cox's Bazar beach

A tourist fell sick and, later, died at Sugandha beach in Cox's Bazar on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Motiur Rahman, who came to Cox's Bazar from Cumilla on Thursday and boarded at Hotel Sea View.

Sea beach employee Belal Hossain said, "Motiur Rahman was standing beside Lifeguard Tower in the morning. Suddenly, he fell sick. Later, lifeguard and beach employees took him to Sadar Hospital where he was declared dead by the on-duty doctors.

The hospital physicians said the tourist died before arrival at the hospital. They suspect that Motiur Rahman might have died from heatstroke.
