One killed, 10 hurt in Madaripur road crash

A man was killed and 10 others were injured after a bus and a pickup van collided on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Tantibari area of Madaripur Sadar upazila on Saturday.
 
Driver of the pickup van Sabuj Sardar, 60, son of late Hamdu Sardar, a resident of Hizla upazila in Barishal district died in the accident.
 
Madaripur Fire Service Inspector Asadul Islam said a Dhaka-bound pickup van collided with a Barishal-bound bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' coming from opposite direction around 1pm, leaving Sabuj dead on the spot and 10 passengers of the bus injured.
 
They rescued the injured and took them to Madaripur Zila Sadar Hospital, he said.
 
Sub-inspector (SI) Bijay Prasad Roy of Mustafapur Highway Police Station in Madaripur said police have visited the spot.
