NEW DELHI, Apr 27: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sustained injuries after slipping and falling inside a helicopter in Durgapur.
The incident occurred as Mamata was boarding the helicopter, where she slipped while climbing the movable stairs to access the aircraft, Indian media reported.
Despite suffering minor injuries, Mamata was promptly assisted by her security personnel. Undeterred by the mishap, she proceeded with her scheduled visit to Asansol.
This incident marks the latest in a series of health setbacks for the 69-year-old Trinamool Congress supremo.
In March, Mamata was hospitalized after a fall near her home in Kolkata, where she suffered a deep cut on her forehead.
Similarly, in June 2023, she sustained injuries to her leg during an emergency helicopter landing near Siliguri due to adverse weather conditions.
Mamata Banerjees brother, Kartik Banerjee, revealed to a Bengali news channel that she experienced a cerebral concussion and sustained a deep cut on her forehead and nose, resulting in heavy bleeding. —TOI
