Betel leaf orchard catches fire in Chuadanga

A fire broke out at over 70 bighas of betel leaf orchard at Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga district on Wednesday evening.

The fire originated around 7.30 pm at Srinagar-Narayanpur village under Jamjami union of the upazila.
On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and working to bring the blaze under control, said Abul Hasan, a leader of Alamdanga Fire Service Station.

"Firefighters are working to bring the blaze and under control and the actual reason behind the fire and the extend of damage from the fire will be known later," he added.
