Nomination of Obaidul Quader's brother cancelled

Nomination paper of Shahadat Hossain, younger brother of Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, has been cancelled for concealing information in the affidavit.

Today is the last of scrutiny of the nomination papers of the candidates who will contest in the coming upazila parishad elections.

District Returning Officer and Additional District Magistrate Muhammad Ismail said, "Shahadat Hossain nomination was cancelled for concealing case-related information in the affidavit."

Earlier, 10 people, including Obaidul Quader's younger brother, nephew, chairman, vice-chairman, submitted their respective nomination papers on Thursday, the last day of the submission date.
