Woman killed, 8 hurt as wall collapses on tin-shed house in city during storm

A woman was killed and eight others were injured after a wall of an under-construction building collapsed on a tin-shed house in the city's Mohammadpur area on Sunday night.

The incident happened during thunderstorm on Sunday night, police said.

Quoting local residents, police said a portion of wall from ninth-floor of a 16-storey under-construction building collapsed on a tin-shed house beside the building in Block-C, Road No 1, at Mohammadpur during storm.

One died and and eight others were injured as four rooms of the tin-shed house were damged after the wall fell on the house.

The injured were taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Reshma, 40, dead.
