Police recovered the
slaughtered body a housewife, who was missing since Monday, from a paddy field at Bhaluka upazila in
Mymensingh district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hajera Khatun, 35, wife of Sohel, a Gujarbhita area under Kachina union of the upazila.
Police have detained the victim's mother-in-law and two sister-in-laws for questioning, however, the victim's husband went into hiding since after the body was recovered, said Shah Kamal Akanda, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Model Police Station.
Hajera went missing from her house since Monday afternoon. Later, locals spotted the slaughtered body of Hajera in the paddy field adjacent to her house and informed police, he said.
On information, police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy and the process to file a case in this regard is underway, added the OC.
