Criticisms on social media should be well-mannered

Nowadays, we the people of society depend on social media for communicating and showing that relationships with society are online-based and activities on social media affect our social life. Here commenting about someone is very much a mentionable issue and is also considered as criticism. It also includes trolls and abuse on social media as a part of criticism where it would need to know the norms of criticism.

Human beings evaluate the actions, viewpoints, and choices of each other. It is humankinds instinct to evolve the evaluation method to make something special in relationships and attract ones attention. Sometimes it can create sweet moments and be the reason for the clash several times in any relationship. Criticism and bullying on social media are now a concerning and most discussable issue in society.

Social media plays a big role in spreading religion and religious views. It also contributes as a medium for spreading false and misinformation about communal sense. Various posts and sharing of information through social media like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc are some rules and policies but if people don maintain those, the criticism will cause riot in society as we witnessed through different events.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, giving your opinion or judgment about the good or bad qualities of something or someone is called criticism. There are several varieties of critiques with differing perspectives. In criticism, there are two components: someone criticizes and the person is criticized. Criticism may be positive or negative, right or wrong, excessive or balanced. Criticism and praise are the most important for continuing relationships between individuals or a community in society.

Criticism styles are used to categorize various critic types. Constructive criticism, positive criticism, and reasonable criticism are examples of acceptable criticism by practically all knowledgeable and educated individuals, and these provide recommendations and appropriate remedies. These are significant in all fields and could serve as a source of inspiration and direction for doing the decent thing. This kind of critique makes it easier to see the flaws and errors in everything. On the other hand, harmful or unreasonable criticism leads to societal catastrophe and the practice of personal attack or blame.


Before posting on social media indicating someone or a special group of persons, the critics must review the activities of the people or objects that are being criticized. Criticism follows certain guidelines, which are referred to as the prerequisite of criticism. Before expressing an opinion or judging the incident or deeds of something or someone, it is necessary to properly comprehend the critics points. Enough narration and information about the critics points are needed. There should be sufficient criticizing statements with enough information and references upholding behavioural norms, laws, and standards to provide meaningful criticism. The motive of the criticism should be clear and positive in well-wishing aspects without ambiguity.

Making unconsidered comments about someone or something is quite simple. But being a constructive, positive, and reasonable critic is not so easy. Criticism may be used in writing, speaking, behaviour, etc. One has to bear the following merits and qualities to be a constructive critic some points may be the same as the discussion. The critics must possess accurate and sufficient knowledge about the subject because a lack of knowledge prevents a critic from adequately critiquing. A deep understanding of the critics point is essential. Little learning puts you at risk for negative criticism. Perfect critique requires analytical skills. When critics are more capable of analysis, criticism will be more acceptable. It aids in distinguishing between right and wrong, as well as good and bad. The art of presenting a critics position is a vital ability of a critic. When the presentation is more artistic, the critique will be more constructive.

To be sound criticism it should have also some sophisticated manner or style that makes a good sound in criticism expressing the actual motive. Criticism shall be presented in a sophisticated and respectful manner in language and presentation style. The goal of criticism is to be clean and honest. With dishonest and nefarious intents, criticism cannot be constructive, rational, or beneficent. The object of criticism will be fixed and obvious. Mention reliable sources when expressing an opinion or providing facts. Steer well clear of confusing language to avoid any misunderstandings. Consider your question before asking it, and maintain the flow of the conversation. The criticism will be directed toward a solution rather than a personal attack or blame game.

The mental toughness of the reviewers increases as a result of criticism. It allowed us to avoid making the same mistakes and faults as others. Constructive criticism is extremely powerful and advantageous. It aids in numerous ways in our subsequent advancements. When constructive criticism is used, defects and errors may be quickly identified. Constructive critics are knowledgeable enough to critique. As a result, knowing the guidance for future goals becomes simple. Getting feedback in the form of criticism is a sign of a brilliant intellect. accepting criticism is a fantastic opportunity to understand ourselves better.

Giving and receiving constructive criticism both help to maintain a proper balance among social, economic, cultural, and political activity. A simple habitual fact related to criticism in every section of life will play a significant role in the welfare of the surroundings a man belongs to society a big ground. To praise or critic someone in a sophisticated manner should only be applicable by following those points which is a must to remove wrong, bad deeds, as well as all kinds of ill practices in society. Practicing constructive criticism will play a key to avoiding communal, religious, and minority conflict and also help to ensure peace and prosperity of the society then all over the country.
