Temperature likely to rise again

The Met Office on Friday forecast that temperature may further rise in the country in next five days.

However, temperature will remain unchanged in the country until 6:00pm on Saturday, but after that it may rise slightly.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country from 6:00pm on Sunday, the Met Office predicted.

Weatherman Monowar Hossain told reporters, "Temperatures will start to increase slightly from Sunday."

He predicted, "It will rise again on May 15. Then some parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet may experience rain, but other areas are likely to remain dry. From May 15 there may be a heatwave that will last till the end of the month."

According to the Met Office, rains or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at a few places across Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Rangpur division with hailstorms at isolated places from 6:00pm today.

The highest temperature of 35.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Mongla on Friday.

The capital endured the highest temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius.
