AL leader shot dead, 2 more injured by bullets in Narail

A local Awami League leader of Narail's Lohagara upazila was shot to death by his opponent on Friday.

Two more people were also injured by bullets during several exchange of fires that occurred at about 7:30pm on Friday in Kundashi area.

Deceased Shikder Mostafa Kamal , 55, was son of Akram Shikder, a resident of Mongolhata village. 
Quoting local people, Lohagara Police Station OC Kanchan Kumar Roy said supporters of Akram Hossain Lipon Member, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked Mostafa Kamal, also a former UP chairman, while he was returning home from Lohagara bazar. They opened fire aiming at him, leaving him critically injured.

Local people rescued him and took to Upazila Health Complex. Later, the AL leader succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka around 10:45pm.

Meanwhile, opponent Akram Hossain Lipon alleged that after the incident, around 9:30pm, Mostafa Kamal's followers attacked them and started firing indiscriminately that left Faysal Sheikh and Polash Mollah injured by bullets,

They were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
