Lightning strike kills farmer in Chuadanga

A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga district on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at around 9am at Patasora village in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Ahmed Mollik, 70, a resident of the village.

Locals said a streak of a lightning struck on Ahmed Mollik while he was returning home from the field, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was rescued and taken to Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex where he was declared dead by the on-duty doctor.

Dr. Helena Akhtar Nipa, health and family planning officer of Damurhuda upazila, stated that Ahmed Mallik had died before he brought there.
