International Nurses Day observed in districts

International Nurses Day-2024 and the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing healthcare, was observed on Sunday across the country and the globe in a befitting manner.

This years theme of the Day is - "Our Nurses, Our Future. The economic power of care."

To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Rangamati and Sirajganj.  
RANGAMATI: On this occasion, different programmes were organized in the district.

A discussion meeting on the significance of the Day was held in the conference room of Rangamati General Hospital in the town in the morning.

District Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Nuyen Khisa was present as the chief guest while Rangamati General Hospital Sub-Service Supervisor Dipti Rani Chowdhury presided over the meeting.

The programme was conducted by Senior Staff Nurse of the hospital Mitu Talukder.

Rangamati General Hospital Senior Consultant (Child) Dr MA Hai and Residential Medical Officer Dr Shaukat Akbar Khan, among others, were also present at that time.

Earlier, a colourful rally was brought out from the gymnasium premises with the participation of nursing officials of all levels of the General Hospital. The rally ended on Rangamati General Hospital premises after parading the main streets of the town.

SIRAJGANJ: Different programmes were organized in the district marking the Day.

A colourful rally was brought out at Sirajganj Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital premises in the morning, which paraded the main streets on the campus.

Later on, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the medical college hospital.

Director of Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital Dr Jahangir Alam Shipon was present there as the chief guest.

Assistant Director of the hospital Dr Md Anwar Hossain, Nursing Supervisor Selina Parvin, Acting Principal of Sheikh Hasina Nursing College Taslima Khatun and Nursing Supervisor Latifa Helen, among others, were also present at the programme.
