Rono's body taken to Shaheed Minar from CPB office

The body of Haidar Akbar Khan Rono, Adviser to the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), has been kept at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital for people from all walks of life to pay their last respect to him.

Here he has been given guard of honour.

The body will be kept on the Shaheed Minar premise for an hour.
Earlier this morning, Rono's body was kept at Communist Party of Bangladesh office at Paltan for an hour for the party leaders and workers to pay their tributes to him. From there, his body was taken to the Central Shaheed Minar with a procession.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dhaka University Central Mosque after Zuhr prayers. And he will be buried at Banani Graveyard beside his father and mother.

Haider Akbar Khan Rono breathed his last at an early hours on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Health and Hope Hospital in the capital's Panthapath area. He was 82.

He had been suffering from chronic lung disease.
Rono was born on August 31, 1942, in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India (now Kolkata).

He was the general secretary of the then East Pakistan Chhatra Union.

Rono left the Workers Party of Bangladesh in 2010 and joined the CPB due to differences of opinion.

He was made a presidium member of the party in 2012 and then became an adviser to the CPB.
